Software & AI automation

Run the business.
Not the busywork.

AI automations that take bookkeeping, intake, follow-ups, and reviews off your desk — the same systems we run daily inside businesses we operate ourselves.

Built & run daily inside the businesses we operate

  • a tax & accounting practice
  • Shopify apps & SaaS products
  • private on-site AI

Everything we sell,
we already run on our own books.

Most AI consultants demo slide decks. We demo production systems — because before we built them for anyone else, we built them for our own businesses.

Tax & accounting firm — ours

Bookkeeping that closes itself

Month-end meant hours of manual transaction categorization across dozens of client files, every single month.

Now a QuickBooks-connected assistant categorizes, flags exceptions, and drafts the follow-up questions for clients.

An afternoon of clicking became a 20-minute review pass.

Shopify app — ours

Bad orders, filtered out front

Fake cash-on-delivery orders were burning courier fees and margin before anyone noticed them.

Automated SMS & WhatsApp verification now confirms every order before it ships — no staff involved.

Junk orders die before they cost a dollar.

Private AI — on-site

AI that never leaves the building

Some client data can't touch a cloud service — full stop. That shouldn't mean missing out on AI.

We deploy local, private AI models on hardware you own, tuned to your documents and workflows.

The leverage of AI, with the data staying home.

What is manual work costing you?

Slide to your numbers. Count admin, data entry, chasing invoices, answering the same emails — the work that repeats.

Where $32 comes from: the ~$22/hr median US admin wage (BLS, May 2024) plus ~40% payroll tax and benefits — our arithmetic, not a BLS figure. Slide to your own loaded cost.

Annual cost of the busywork

52 weeks of it, at your numbers — before any time off
If a quarter of those hours went away
2 hrs/wk
about 104 hours a year, at 25% — capacity, not cash, until hours or headcount actually change
Rough math, not a quote. The 25% is our planning number — what we're willing to be held to, not a forecast for your business. The audit swaps it for a ranked plan on your actual workflows.
See our math

The published numbers sit on either side of ours: Goldman Sachs (2023) modelled ~46% of tasks in US office and administrative-support occupations as AI-exposed — in scope, not saved — while measured savings from AI use so far run about 1.4% of all US work hours (NBER working paper 32966).

Audit. Roadmap. Build.
In that order, on purpose.

No retainers before results, no six-month discovery phases. You'll know what automation is worth to you before you commit to building any of it.

The automation audit

Sixty minutes, on-site or remote. We walk your workflows end to end — intake, books, follow-up, scheduling — and map where the hours are leaking.

Build & run

We build on the tools you already use, test against real work, and hand over something your team actually operates. An optional care plan keeps it monitored and improving.

Vendor-neutral by design: we build on what you already run — QuickBooks, Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, your CRM, your phone system — instead of selling you a new stack to abandon it in a year.

Data & confidentiality

For sensitive work we deploy private, on-site AI — nothing leaves hardware you own. Our team comes from tax and healthcare software, where confidentiality is a requirement, not a feature.

AI is the new layer.
We built the systems underneath it.

An automation is only as good as the systems it plugs into. Since 2013, Lean Rise engineers have shipped inside the exact platforms small businesses run on — storefronts, CRMs, clinical systems, tax engines — through venture-backed startups and national platforms where mistakes are expensive. It's why our AI holds up in production, not just in a demo.

Retail & e-commerce

Commerce, from storefront to CRM

Ratings-and-reviews technology serving major retail brands, marketplace and event-commerce platforms, high-volume order verification — plus Shopify apps and Salesforce integrations we build and run ourselves.

Now we put AI on top of that stack: verifying orders before they ship, syncing customers and pipeline between Shopify and Salesforce, drafting review responses, chasing carts and invoices.

Our automations plug into systems we've built from the inside.

Healthcare

Software where privacy is law

We've shipped inside practice-management platforms used by tens of thousands of clinicians, patient-engagement systems at the point of care, and care-coordination networks connecting health and social services.

Now that becomes AI intake, scheduling, and follow-up for practices — designed with the data discipline those systems demanded of us.

HIPAA-grade habits, applied to every automation.

Tax & fintech

Money, compliance, and the books

Our background includes sales-tax automation used by online sellers nationwide, payments and card-program tooling — plus the daily bookkeeping trenches of the accounting practice we operate.

Now that becomes AI bookkeeping: categorization with exception flags, reconciliation prep, and payment follow-up your accountant will actually sign off on.

Fluent in the systems your accountant actually trusts.

We sell what we run. Every automation we propose has already survived our own month-end, our own clients, and our own deadlines. If it wouldn't survive tax season, it doesn't get recommended.

Questions, answered straight.

Do we have to replace the software we already use? +

No — that's the point. We build on top of QuickBooks, Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, your CRM, and your existing phone and forms. Automation should make your current tools work harder, not force a migration.

Is our data (and our clients' data) safe? +

Every build starts with a data map: what the automation can see, where it flows, and what it may never touch. For sensitive work we deploy private, on-site AI so nothing leaves hardware you own. Our team comes from tax and healthcare software — confidentiality is a requirement here, not a feature.

Why does the audit cost $750? +

Because it's real diagnostic work with a deliverable, not a sales call. You get a ranked, one-page roadmap you keep either way, and the $750 is credited in full toward your first build — so if we go on to work together, the audit effectively costs nothing. Nothing is due when you book: the hour is reserved first and payment arranged after. Paying also means we show up as operators doing the work, not a rep running a free “discovery call” to pitch you.

What if you find nothing worth automating? +

Then you don't pay for it. If the audit doesn't surface automation you think is worth building, we refund the $750 in full — your call, not ours. You keep the roadmap either way. We'd rather return a fee than bill you for a plan you won't use.

How fast does this actually move? +

The audit happens within a week or two of booking. First automations typically go live within a month of the roadmap — weeks, not quarters. You'll see working software before you've forgotten why you called.

What happens when something breaks or the AI gets it wrong? +

Every automation ships with human checkpoints where judgment matters — drafts held for approval, exceptions routed to a person. The optional care plan adds monitoring, fixes, and monthly improvements so the system gets better instead of stale.

Do we have to be near your office to work together? +

No. Audits, builds, and check-ins all run remote-first, and when being in the room helps — a workshop, training your team — we show up. Fit matters more than geography.

Start here

The busywork won't automate itself.

A sixty-minute audit tells you exactly what automation is worth in your business — you keep the roadmap either way, and if the audit turns up nothing worth automating, the $750 comes back in full. We keep the build calendar deliberately small so every project gets an operator's attention. The only expensive option is another year of doing it by hand.

Nothing due today — booking reserves your hour; payment is arranged after.
